Bloomington, Ill. - After defeating the Firebirds on Sunday, the Illinois Wesleyan University baseball team welcomes College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin foe Carthage College to Bloomington Tuesday, April 23 before battling Eastern Illinois University Wednesday. The Titans and the Firebirds will meet on Horenberger Field at 5 p.m. and will quickly turn it around Wednesday, April 24 for a single game at Eastern Illinois with a start time of 3 p.m. at Coaches Stadium.

After a 13-3 win over the Firebirds Sunday, the Titans are boasting a seven-game win streak on a 21-9, 10-3 CCIW record. The Green and White also defeated CCIW rival Wheaton College earlier in the week, 9-1. Prior to Sunday's game, the Firebirds came off a 2-0 sweep of North Park University, who previously owned the top spot in the league standings but have since been joined by IWU and Millikin all with 10-3 conference records.

There is quite a lengthy history between the two teams, having played each other 110 times dating back to 1989. The two programs have been fairly evenly matched throughout the years, with IWU having the slight upper hand with an all-time record of 59-52.

On the contrary, EIU and IWU have only clashed twice before. Eastern Illinois holds a 2-0 record over Illinois Wesleyan, the first meeting being in 2022 where the Titans took a 7-4 loss to the Panthers. Again, in 2023 the two teams matched up and the Panthers came out victorious in a 24-7 win.

Junior Tyler Woltman (Wheaton, Ill.-Wheaton North) is at the top of the team leader board for batting average with a .410. The junior totals 78 at bats with 32 hits on the season and is a key player behind the plate for the Titans with 169 putouts and 20 assists.

Another to note is junior Justin Gadomski (Schaumburg, Ill.-Schaumburg), who currently sits second in batting averages at .407. Gadomski has 50 hits on the season and a whopping 31 RBIs. Combined, Gadomski and Woltman have totaled 49 runs on the season.
