BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University baseball team will play three games over two days with a College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin doubleheader Saturday, April 13 and a non-conference contest Sunday, April 14. The Titans are going into this weekend with an overall record of 16-9 and 6-1 in conference. The Green and White will first take on the Vikings of Augustana College in a double header at 1 and 4 p.m on Saturday. Sunday will see IWU play Monmouth College at 1 p.m., to round out the weekend. All three games will be played at Horenberger Field in Bloomington, Ill.

IWU is going into Saturday's game fresh off a CCIW win against Wheaton College that ended with a walk-off sacrifice fly to win the game 13-12, in the ninth. The Titans record is now 16-9 overall with a 6-3 conference record while the Vikings are 16-10 and 3-5 in the CCIW. Augie's most recent matchup was with CCIW foe North Park University where AC was hit with a 10-2 conference loss.

The Titans and the Vikings have a lengthy history dating back to 1988, where IWU has the upperhand over AC in the all-time record (71-64). Neither team has been able to keep a significantly long win streak over each other. The very first matchup between the two teams was on April 12, 1988 where the Titans came away with two victories on the day with scores of 9-8 and 17-13.

The Monmouth Scots are going into Sunday's game with a 11-11 overall record. The Scots and the Titans have seen each other a total of 15 times with the Green and White taking the overall series record 13-2.

Junior Justin Gadomski (Schaumburg, Ill.-Schaumburg) has been putting up impressive numbers since the start of the season and holds the team high in batting average with .404. Not far behind is senior Louis Perona (Chicago, Ill.-Lane Tech) with a .386 batting average. The two Titans make up for 192 at bats and 76 hits.

On the bump sophomore Will Davidsmeier (Virginia, Ill.-Beardstown) is leading Illinois Wesleyan's pitchers in ERA right now with a 1.35. His most recent win was against Wheaton when he closed the game out with a batter striking out swinging to give IWU the chance to win the game.
