Tervo Named CCIW Defensive Player of the Week

First weekly award of his career

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Illinois Wesleyan University men's lacrosse junior goalkeeper Colin Tervo (West Linn, Ore.-West Linn) picked up the Titans' first College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin weekly award of the season Tuesday, March 26. Tervo was named the conference's Defensive Player of the Week, marking the first weekly award of his career. 


The Green and White moved to 4-3 on the season after defeating Albion College, 15-8 Saturday, March 23 a match that saw Tervo pick up the win between the posts and move to 4-2 on the season in goal. The junior was just one save shy of his career-best as he put up 17 stops against the Britons on a .680 save percentage. 

Having yet to play a CCIW contest, Tervo ranks fourth in the conference with 11.57 saves per game while his .523 save percentage on the year ranks sixth. 

IWU returns to Tucci Stadium Thursday, March 28 as the Titans host Southwestern University with a start time set for 7:30 p.m.
