Inside Lacrosse Release

BALTIMORE, Md. – Illinois Wesleyan University men's lacrosse senior midfielder Gage Black (Peoria, Ill.-Dunlap) garnered Inside Lacrosse Preseason All-American Honorable Mention honors the organization announced, Jan. 31.

The honor is the latest in Black's impressive resume which also includes his 2023 United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association All-America Honorable Mention and First Team Intercollegiate Men's Lacrosse Coaches Association All-Region 5 awards. 

Playing a crucial role in Illinois Wesleyan's run to the NCAA tournament a season ago, Black accrued 49 goals, the second-most on the team, and 53 points for IWU over the 19-game season. Black's eight man-up goals tied for the most on the Titan squad. His 22 goals over eight conference games secured him First-Team All-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin accolades. 

Black is the only College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin men's lacrosse player to make the list. 

Illinois Wesleyan officially kicks off its 2024 season Saturday, Feb. 17 in Holland, Mich. for a game against Hope College.
