BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Illinois Wesleyan University men's wrestling team hosted its first-ever competition in the Shirk Center with a dual against College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin foe Millikin University Friday, Nov. 15. Doubling as senior day, IWU recognized seniors Omar AlQammaz (Orland Park, Ill.-Victor J. Andrew), Bobby Conroy (St. Louis, Mo.-St. Louis University HS) and Leonardo Reyes (Manteno, Ill.-Manteno) ahead of the meet

Conroy was down 3-2 against Millikin's Benicio Martinez but managed to climb to a 4-2 lead early on. Millikin leveled it at 4-4 but a big move by Conroy put him up 7-4. Conroy battled for an escape before Millikin combined for five points to take the match win.

The Shirk Center saw its first-ever win in the exhibition rounds as freshman Ameer Alamawi (New Lenox, Ill.-Lincoln-Way Central) defeated Trevor Schoonover by way of a 7-4 decision.

IWU returns to action Saturday, Nov. 23 as both men's and women's programs head up to Eau Claire, Wis. for the 8-Man and 8-Woman Battles hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
