INDIANAPOLIS -
The fifth-ranked Illinois Wesleyan University men's golf team won its second tournament of the season Tuesday, Oct. 8, as the Titans cruised to a 1-2 finish at the Wabash Fall Invitational. IWU carded a final round three-under par, 285, to conclude the 54-hole tournament with a score of 854 at the par-72, 6904-yard Broadmoor Country Club. The Titan 'B' team placed runner-up at 876.

The dominating showing featured a battle down to the wire between senior Griffin Pohl (Western Springs, Ill.-Lyons Township) and junior Aidan Healy (New Lenox, Ill.-Lincoln-Way West). Pohl and Healy stood tied for much of the final round before Healy birdied No. 17. Pohl followed with an eagle, his second of the day, before registering a birdie on the 18th hole. The strong finish capped off a memorable round for Pohl, who aced hole No. 4 with a pitching wedge from 156 yards out. The win marked the first of his career as Pohl finished with a career-low 54-hole total of 209.

Healy claimed runner-up at 212, tying for the best 54-hole score of his career. Freshman Pablo Castro (Palatine, Ill.-Palatine) and junior Michael Spitzer (Hinsdale, Ill.-Hinsdale Central) tied for third. Castro finished the tournament one-over at 217, while Spitzer matched his opening round score of one-under 71 to post a total of 217.

Senior Raj Sethi (Chandler, Ariz.-Arizona College Prep) carded a one-over 73 to finish tied for seventh with a score of 219.

Junior Myles Lahart (Park Ridge, Ill.-Maine South) used a career-best round of three-under, 69, to climb into the top-10. The junior posted seven birdies in his final round to finish the tournament with a career-best score of 220 and place ninth. Senior Quinn Clifford (Chicago, Ill.-Brother Rice) went even-par for the second straight round to earn a share of 10th.

Illinois Wesleyan led the field from start to finish as the Titans concluded the three-round event at 11-under par (854). IWU's 'B' team maintained its second-place standing with an even-par 288 to post a 54-hole score of 876, while Millikin took third at 897. Rhodes (899) and Hope (900) rounded out the top-five.
