BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – Continuing its stretch of home games, the Illinois Wesleyan University women's soccer team will host Carthage College homecoming weekend, Saturday, Oct. 5, for its first College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin match. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. on Neis Field and will be the latter half of an IWU soccer doubleheader with the men's game set for 1 p.m.

As a part of homecoming festivities, IWU will celebrate the 30th anniversary of women's soccer at Illinois Wesleyan by recognizing the 1994 team at both the Titan football game inside Tucci Stadium at 1 p.m. and again at halftime of the women's soccer match.

The Titans are looking to bounce back from a 6-2 loss to Hope College last Wednesday, Sept. 25. Senior captain Tegan Timerman (Peoria, Ill.-Peoria Notre Dame) and sophomore Sophie Lampert (Hudson, Ill.-Normal West) scored IWU's two goals while junior captain Bree Cordray (Le Roy, Ill.-University High) had an assist and freshman Ella Randall (San Francisco, Calif.-The Bay School of San Francisco) recorded a career-high 11 saves.

Illinois Wesleyan (2-6-1) is the final team to break into conference play with Millikin, Augustana, Carroll and Wheaton all tallying wins in their CCIW openers. Carthage carries a 4-2-3 record into Saturday's match after most recently falling to Millikin 1-0. Millikin currently leads the league with a 9-0-1, 1-0 CCIW record.

In its series history with Carthage, the Green and White has the upperhand with a 20-9-5 series record. The last meeting saw the match end in a 1-1 tie between the Titans and Firebirds, Sept. 23, 2023 with Timerman netting the tying goal a season ago.

The IWU women's soccer match is set to kickoff at 3:30 p.m. Saturday on Neis Field following the concurrent 1 p.m. football and men's soccer games. Both a live stream and live stats will be available for the contest and are available on the women's soccer schedule page of iwusports.com or by clicking here.
