Women’s Soccer Battles Big Blue in Final Home Match

Game time slated for 7 p.m.

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Illinois Wesleyan University women's soccer team is preparing to take Neis Field for the final time Wednesday, Oct. 30 as it hosts Millikin University for its final College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin regular season matchup. Game time is set for under the lights at 7 p.m. on Neis Field.

The Green and White enters Wednesday's contest with a 3-11-2, 1-5-1 CCIW record after most recently falling 2-nil to Carroll University. Freshman Grace Kiewiet (Leawood, Kan.-Notre Dame de Sion) totaled 10 saves on the day while the Titans held the undefeated CCIW Regular Season Champions to two goals Saturday, Oct. 26.

Kiewiet's save count on Saturday helped boost her in CCIW standings as she leads the league with a 6.31 saves per game average. Additionally, she ranks fourth with a .774 save percentage.  As a team, IWU ranks second in the conference with 103 total saves on the year and 6.44 saves per game.

Millikin (12-3-1, 4-3) comes to Bloomington off a loaded final week of action. The Big Blue recently defeated Augustana Saturday, 4-nil, before falling to Carroll 1-nil Monday night, Oct. 28. 

In its series history with Millikin, dating back to 1996, IWU owns a 27-2 series record. In their meeting a season ago, the Big Blue came out on top with a 2-nil win over the Titans Sept. 27, 2023.
