BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – With the regular season dwindling to its end, the Illinois Wesleyan University women's soccer team travels to Naperville, Ill. for its last road contest of the regular season against College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin foe, North Central College. The Titans will face off with the Cardinals at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23 inside Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium.

After a 0-1-1 week, IWU's overall record stands at 3-9-2 and 1-3-1 in CCIW action with three games remaining in the regular season. Last week's schedule saw the Green and White come back for a 1-1 tie with Augustana Wednesday, Oct. 16, thanks to a long-boot goal by freshman defender Keira Robinson (Bloomington, Ind.-Bloomington South). Saturday's contest against Elmhurst ended with a heartbreaking last-minute goal for the Bluejays as the Titans fell 1-0.

Freshman Grace Kiewiet (Leawood, Kan.-Notre Dame de Sion) totaled eight saves on the week, bringing her season total to 65 with a .793 save percentage. Kiewiet's save percentage is fourth-best in the CCIW while her 5.91 saves per game average ranks second.

Expected to make her full return to the pitch is freshman Liza Wiley (Bloomington, Ind.-Home School). Despite missing two and a half games due to injury, Wiley still ranks fourth in the conference with 1.58 points per game, only trailing three fifth-year competitors. Additionally, Wiley ranks 54th in the nation with 0.75 goals per game.

North Central sits second in league standings with a 4-1 CCIW mark and a 12-4 overall record. Leading the league with an unblemished 5-0 conference record is Carroll. So far the Pioneers are the only team to lock in an early spot into the CCIW Tournament.

NCC is coming off a four-game win streak with its most recent win coming by way of a 2-0 shutout over Carthage Saturday, Oct. 19.

The series history between IWU and NCC dates back to the 1994 season with the Titans carrying a hefty margin of victory at 27-5-1 in the all-time series record. The last four meetings have seen high-scoring games on both sides with the Cardinals taking the 6-0 lopsided win a season ago, Oct. 21, 2023.

Both a live stream and live stats will be available for the contest and are available on the women's soccer schedule page of iwusports.com or by clicking here.
