Women’s Soccer Set to Travel to Elmhurst for Weekend Match

Kickoff set for 5 p.m., men to follow at 7 p.m.

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – After securing a tie in a College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin match Wednesday night, the Illinois Wesleyan University women's soccer team is set to travel to Elmhurst University Saturday, Oct. 19 for another round of conference action. The Titan men and women will play a doubleheader against the Bluejays with the women's game set for 5 p.m. and the men following at 7 p.m.

In its most recent match, Illinois Wesleyan tied with Augustana College Wednesday, Oct. 16 to move to 3-8-2 and 1-2-1 in CCIW play. Freshman Keira Robinson (Bloomington, Ind.-Bloomington South) scored the equalizer while Grace Kiewiet (Leawood, Kan.-Notre Dame de Sion) racked up six saves. 

Kiewiet ranks second in the conference for saves per game at 6.30 and sits third with a .797 save percentage.

Elmhurst, who currently sits fourth in the league with a 7-7-2 overall record and 2-3 in the CCIW, will be coming off of a week-long break. The Bluejays most recent contest resulted in a 7-nil loss to North Central College, Saturday, Oct. 12. 

The Green and White finds itself leading with a 23-5-1 series record with Elmhurst dating back to the 1996 season. Additionally, IWU is on a 12 game win streak over the Bluejays.
