SANDESTIN, Fla. - The Illinois Wesleyan University women's golf team posted its best round of the tournament on the final day of the Golfweek October Classic Tuesday, Oct. 15, as the 10th-ranked Titans carded a 295. In a field that rivaled that of a national championship, IWU placed sixth among 24 teams.

Senior Jadyn Spinks (Bloomington, Ill.-University High) was Illinois Wesleyan's top placer, tying for seventh. Spinks carded a final round even-par 72 to conclude the tournament four-over par at 220. Fellow senior Macy Ludwig (Effingham, Ill.-St. Anthony) posted the best round of the tournament by a Titan as she fired a three-under, 69, to earn a 32nd-place finish at 227.

Senior Jacque O'Neill (Harbor Springs, Mich.-Harbor Springs) posted a three-over 75 on the final day, while sophomore Emily Gastrau (Wauwatosa, Wis.-Wauwatosa East) and senior Kylie Hundman (Bloomington, Ill.-Central Catholic) tallied four-over 76s.

WashU took home the team title, using a final round score of 284 to compile a total of 868. Carnegie Mellon finished runner-up at 870, while Emory grabbed third (877). Williams (887) and Pomona-Pitzer (891) finished ahead of the Titans in fourth and fifth, respectively. Emory's Zimo Li captured medalist honors with rounds of 70, 69, and 71 to earn the win by four strokes (210).

The highly competitive tournament closed out the fall portion of Illinois Wesleyan's schedule, with the Titans next set to compete in March.
