Women’s Golf Concludes Round Two of Golfweek October Classic

Spinks tied for 14th after day two

SANDESTIN, Fla. - With one round left to play, the No. 10 Illinois Wesleyan University women's golf team sits tied for eighth at the 24-team Golfweek October Classic. IWU carded a 309 on day two of the tournament Monday, Oct. 14, on the par-72 5611-yard course in Sandestin, Fla. 

Sophomores Nora Cerroni (Waueksha, Wis.-Waukesha North) and Emily Gastrau (Wauwatosa, Wis.-Wauwatosa East) turned in IWU's top rounds of day two of the event as they carded three-over 75s. Cerroni's round boosted her into a tie for 24th with a 36-hole score of 151, while Gastrau holds a share of 32nd at 152.

Senior Jadyn Spinks (Bloomington, Ill.-University High) recorded a five-over 77 and is tied for 14th at 148.

Emory's Zimo Li sits atop the 124-player leaderboard at 139 with WashU's Sydney Kuo sitting second at 143. IWU is tied for eighth as a team at 610 while Emory moved up to lead even par at 576.

The 54-hole tournament comes to a close tomorrow, Oct. 15. Live scoring will be available via Golfstat, while results will be posted to iwusports.com following the conclusion of the round.
