BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Illinois Wesleyan University women's soccer team is looking to bounce back from a season-opening loss to Simpson College with a 7 p.m. matchup against Knox College Wednesday, Sept. 6 at Neis Field.

The Titans found themselves down 2-0 in the first half of their game with the Storm before the Green and White defense ramped up their coverage to hold Simpson to only five shots in the second half. Junior goalkeeper Kayla Borg (McHenry, Ill.-Cary Grove) totaled seven saves to lead all College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin goalkeepers in saves per game.

Illinois Wesleyan returns to Neis Field for the second half of its back-to-back home games to start the season, this time welcoming the Knox Prairie Fire. The Titans hold the upper hand in their history with the Prairie Fire, with three wins to Knox's one. In their last meeting on Sept. 4, 2022, the Titans surged to a 5-1 victory while dominating throughout the entire contest with three goals in the first half and two in the second.

Knox has fallen to a 0-2 record after losses to Millikin (5-0) on Friday and Rose-Hulman (4-0) on Sunday.
