BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – Facing its toughest challenge of the season, the Illinois Wesleyan University women's soccer team succumbed, 3-0, to fourth-ranked Washington University in St. Louis Wednesday, Sept. 20 at Neis Field.

WashU (6-0) took control from the start as it fired in a goal in the second minute of play. The Bears picked up two additional goals in the 24th and 36th minutes to finish the half up 3-nil. Audrey Hofstetter (Gilbert, Ariz.-Perry) appeared in the net for the first time this season, recording four saves through the first half.

The Titans held the Bears scoreless for the entirety of the second half, but could not break the shutout. Hofstetter played all 90 minutes between the pipes and recorded nine total saves and three goals allowed.
