NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Senior Emma Thorman (Macomb, Ill.-Macomb) of the Illinois Wesleyan University women's golf team was named the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Women's Golfer of the Week the league office announced Wednesday, Sept. 20. It is the fourth weekly award of Thorman's career.

Thorman is off to a strong start in her senior campaign, leading IWU in back-to-back tournaments. The Macomb, Ill. native led the Titans at the Division I Redbird Invitational hosted by Illinois State, Sept. 10-11, where she tied for 41st in the 92-player field. She followed that up with a runner-up finish at the IWU Fall Classic, Sept. 16-17, as Illinois Wesleyan placed second. 

At IWU's home tournament, Thorman put together an exceptional performance. She fired an opening round 69, tying the program's record at three-under par. Thorman carded a one-over 73 on day two, to tie the program's 36-hole record at two-under.

Illinois Wesleyan is back in action Sept. 30-Oct. 1 at the Mad Dawg Invite hosted by University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point at SentryWorld.
