Women’s Soccer Drops Contest With No. 24 Emory

Titans look ahead to Sunday's match against Sewanne

Box Score ATLANTA, Ga.  – The Illinois Wesleyan University women's soccer team faced a difficult opponent in No. 24 Emory University Friday, Sept. 15 as the Titans found themselves in a 5-0 deficit at the conclusion of the contest. 

Emory took early possession of the game, finding a goal in Kaitlyn Nimmer in the third minute of play. The Titans looked to dampen the Eagles' efforts as junior goalkeeper Kayla Borg (McHenry, Ill.-Cary Grove) picked up six saves before Emory found their second scoring opportunity in the 30th minute. A strong presence in the box saw Emory with its third goal before the end of the half.  

Emory picked up two additional goals in the second half to take the 5-0 win. Borg registered 14 saves in the contest. 

The Titans will make a stop in Sewanee, Tenn. on their way home to face Sewanee: The College of the South Sunday, Sept. 17 at 1 p.m.
