BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Illinois Wesleyan University women's soccer team looks to bounce back from a tough weekend in Iowa as it travels to Holland, Mich. for a non-conference matchup with Hope College Wednesday, Sept. 13, at Van Andel Soccer Stadium.
The Titans went head-to-head with two nationally-ranked opponents over the weekend dropping a 2-0 contest with No. 13 UW-La Crosse Saturday, Sept. 9 before narrowly losing to No. 23 Wartburg College 1-nil Sunday, Sept. 10. Junior goalkeeper Kayla Borg (McHenry, Ill.-Cary Grove) recorded a career-high 10 saves against UW-La Crosse with 11 total saves on the weekend.
The Green and White idle at a 1-3-0 record on the season heading into the matchup with Hope (1-0-2). Wednesday's contest will mark the ninth meeting between the two programs since 2003, with Illinois Wesleyan owning a 5-2-1 series record. In their last meeting on Aug. 31, 2018, Hope picked up its second win in the series, defeating Illinois Wesleyan 2-1.
