Men’s Soccer Back Home Against Greenville

Titans set sight on 3-0 record for Tuesday against Greenville

BLOOMINGTON Ill. – With two straight dramatic victories to start the season, the Illinois Wesleyan University men's soccer team looks to make it three in-a-row against Greenville University, Tuesday, Sept. 12 at Neis Field in Bloomington. Playing under the lights, kickoff is set for a 7 p.m. start.

The Titans are undefeated so far this season with a record of 2-0 while their opponents, the Panthers, are going into tomorrow's match with a record of 2-2. 

The Green and White came off of a 1-0 week where the team played an astounding game against Aurora University. Freshman Faheem Mujahid (St. Robert, Mo.-Waynesville) scored both goals in their 2-0 win over Aurora, extending their record to 2-0 for the season. Sophomore Sam Kedzior (Cary, Ill.-Cary Grove) claimed his second shutout of the season finishing the game with six total saves. 

Kedzior was also recognized as the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Defensive Player of the Week Sept. 5, in the conference's first weekly awards of the 2023 season. Kedzior had his second career shutout and tallied two saves that week. 

The Titans and the Panthers go back 36 years to the first time the programs met, the most recent meeting was in 2019 when the Panthers bested the Green and White 2-1. Only facing off 16 times the Titans are 5-10-1 to the Panthers.
