BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University athletic training staff announced the addition of three full-time assistant athletic trainers in Rachel Dawson, Kayla Pisauro, and Stephanie Tighe, Friday, August 4.
Head Athletic Trainer Melissa Perkins, in her second year at Illinois Wesleyan, will continue to work with football and softball. Logan Hollis, entering his third year on staff for the Titans, will serve as the athletic trainer for women's volleyball, men's lacrosse, and men's and women's golf. Entering her second year as a full-time assistant after two years as a graduate assistant at IWU, Erin Rosier will work with football and women's basketball. Dawson will oversee athletic training care for men's basketball and women's lacrosse, while Pisauro will work with baseball and men's and women's wrestling, and Tighe will have women's soccer and men's and women's track and field.
In his second year as a graduate assistant, Kohei Osumi will serve as the athletic trainer for men's soccer, men's and women's swimming and diving, and men's and women's track and field. Also a second-year graduate assistant, Olivia Tisckos will work with men's and women's cross country, bowling, and men's volleyball.
Dawson comes to IWU after serving as a graduate assistant at College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin foe, Augustana College. While receiving her Master's of Science in Kinesiology with a focus on sport and exercise psychology at Western Illinois University, Dawson spent the last two years working with men's and women's basketball, football, women's lacrosse, men's and women's soccer, men's and women's swimming and diving, and men's and women's water polo at Augustana.
A native of Ransom, Ill., Dawson received her undergraduate degree in athletic training from North Central College. During her four years at NCC, Dawson served as an athletic training student for men's basketball, men's and women's cross country, football, men's and women's lacrosse, men's and women's soccer, men's and women's track and field, and men's and women's wrestling. While at North Central, Dawson helped out at Downers Grove North High School as an athletic training student for boy's and girl's basketball, boy's and girl's track and field, and boy's wrestling for the spring semester of 2020 prior to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Pisauro moves into a full-time assistant position at Illinois Wesleyan after finishing her two-year stint as a graduate assistant for the Titans. Pisauro obtained a graduate degree in kinesiology and recreation with a focus in athletic training from Illinois State University. The Roselle, Ill. native served as a graduate athletic trainer for women's soccer, men's and women's track and field, women's lacrosse, as well as men's and women's swim and dive.
Also a graduate of North Central College, Pisauro received her Bachelor of Arts in Athletic Training in May 2021. During her four years for the Cardinals, Pisauro worked with men's and women's volleyball, men's wrestling, women's lacrosse, football, men's and women's cross country, and men's and women's track and field. During the fall of 2019, Pisauro helped out at St. Francis High School as an athletic training student for football, boy's and girl's cross country, boy's soccer, boy's wrestling, girl's tennis, and girl's volleyball.
Tighe comes to Illinois Wesleyan by way of Eureka College, where she served as an assistant athletic trainer beginning in August 2022 until she was promoted to interim head athletic trainer in December 2022. While at Eureka, Tighe worked with over 400 athletes across all 14 teams for the Red Devils. Prior to Eureka, Tighe served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Lincoln College, where she worked with cross country, soccer, volleyball, basketball, golf, track and field, and softball. Tighe received her Master of Science in kinesiology and recreation with a focus in athletic training from Illinois State University in May 2022. She attended the University of South Carolina for her undergraduate studies, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training in May 2020.
