BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - With the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Tournament set to begin Thursday, April 27, the Illinois Wesleyan University men's tennis team eyes a quarterfinals match against Millikin University. The Titans (10-9, 2-5 CCIW) earned the No. 6 seed in the tournament, while Millikin (15-5, 5-2 CCIW) is the No. 3 seed.

Amid one of its best years under head coach Sam Totten, IWU secured its first double-digit win season since 2010-11. The most recent victory came over Carroll University Sunday, April 16. The Titans secured an 8-1 victory, powered behind lone senior Carter Burk's (Bloomington, Ill.-Normal U High) two wins on senior day.

The Green and White have seen a phenomenal season from freshman Ian Turnbull (Bloomington, Ill.-Bloomington), who became the fourth freshman in program history to be named to an All-CCIW team. Turnbull received second team honors for his play at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles with partner Burk, the conference announced Tuesday, April 25. Turnbull joins Demetrios Triantafel, a three-time All-CCIW honoree, as Titans to receive the conference honor since Totten took the program over ahead of the 2018-19 campaign.

The Big Blue enters off a sweep over Elmhurst University Monday, April 24. This will mark the 10th meeting all-time between the two teams, the second this season. Millikin holds a 7-2 advantage, and won the most recent contest Monday, April 10, 8-1. Sophomore Zeke Cross (Springfield, Ill.-Springfield) picked up the lone win, as he won at No. 6 singles, 6-4, 6-2.

Wheaton College will host the tournament, and will provide a live steam and live stats of the matches. All links, including information regarding the CCIW Tournament, can be found under the men's tennis schedule page on iwusports.com.
