Turnbull wins at No. 1 singles

WHEATON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University men's tennis team suffered an 8-1 defeat at Wheaton College Saturday, April 1, in College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin play. The Titans dip to 8-7 on the season and 0-3 in league play, while Wheaton moved to 9-6, 2-1 in the CCIW.

Freshman Ian Turnbull (Bloomington, Ill.-Bloomington) picked up the lone win on the day for the Titans, earning a 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 1 singles. Ian Turnbull and senior Carter Burk (Bloomington, Ill.-Bloomington) dropped a tight 8-7 (6) match at No. 1 doubles, while Ben Vigneri (Casper, Wyo.-Phillips Exter Academy) and Zeke Cross (Springfield, Ill.-Springfield) fell in tiebreakers at No. 4 and No. 6 singles, respectively. 

Illinois Wesleyan turns around and takes on Elmhurst University tomorrow, April 2, with a 10 a.m. start.
