Men’s Tennis Drops CCIW Opener Against Augustana

Titans return to action Sunday, March 26 at North Central

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - In the first match of the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin season, the Illinois Wesleyan University men's tennis team fell to Augustana College, 9-0, Friday night, March 24. The Titans fall to 8-5, 0-1 CCIW, while the Vikings improve to 5-3, 1-0 CCIW.

Freshman Ben Vigneri (Casper, Wyo.-Phillips Exeter Academy) battled to the end of his match, as he took set two 6-2 after dropping his first set 6-0 at No. 4 singles. Vigneri forced Augustana's Timothee Philip to go the full distance, as Augie won the tiebreaker 10-8.

Illinois Wesleyan returns to action Sunday, March 26, as the Titans will head to North Central College for a 1 p.m. match.
