Men’s Volleyball Downed by No. 7 North Central in Four

Titans return to action Saturday, March 25 at Carthage College

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University men's volleyball team dropped its match in four sets at No. 7 North Central College Wednesday night, March 22. IWU falls to 9-12 overall, 0-6 in College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin play, while NCC moves to 16-3 overall, and sits atop the conference with a 6-0 record. 

Illinois Wesleyan finished with 38 kills on a .182 attack percentage, while the Cardinals used 50 kills and a .241 clip to secure the win. NCC also held an advantage in aces (8-5), assists (47-35), digs (50-31), and blocks (8-3). 

Junior Michael Eastman (Chicago, Ill.-Saint Ignatius) led the Titan offense with 12 kills, while sophomores Ryan Myers (Hawthorn Woods, Ill.-Stevenson) and Luke Hartke (Barrington, Ill.-Barrington) finished with nine and six, respectively. Sophomore Vince DiCosola (Aurora, Ill.-Oswego East) recorded team-bests in assists (20) and aces (2). 

On the defensive side, junior KJ Johnson (Saint John, Ind.-Marian Catholic) produced a team-high 10 digs, while Eastman added seven. Junior Alec Mucha (Geneva, Ill.-Geneva) led IWU with two blocks. 

The Titans return to action Saturday, March 25, against Carthage College. First serve is scheduled for 3 p.m. inside Tarble Arena. Links for the live stream and live stats can be found under the men's volleyball schedule on iwusports.com.
