Men’s Volleyball Clipped by No. 6 Carthage

KENOSHA, Wis. - The Illinois Wesleyan University men's volleyball team was upended by No. 6 Carthage College Saturday, March 25 in a College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin clash. The Titans (9-13, 0-7 CCIW) fell in straight sets with scores 25-12, 25-13, 25-10. The win moves the Firebirds to 14-5 (6-1 CCIW). 

Offensively, Illinois Wesleyan was led by sophomore Ryan Myers (Hawthorn Woods, Ill.-Stevenson), who finished with five kills. Juniors Michael Eastman (Chicago, Ill.-Saint Ignatius) and Javier Romano (Prospect Heights, Ill.-Wheeling) each recorded three kills. Sophomore Vince DiCosola (Aurora, Ill.-Oswego East) led the Green and White with eight assists.

On the defensive side, junior Adam Blackmore (Geneva, Ill.-Geneva) recorded a team-high five digs. Junior Alec Mucha (Geneva, Ill.-Geneva) led the net defense with two blocks. 

The Titans return to action Wednesday night for a match against North Park University. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m. inside the Shirk Center.
