Men's Volleyball Downed by Duhawks

Titans travel to North Central, March 22

DUBUQUE, Iowa - The Illinois Wesleyan University men's volleyball team struggled offensively Saturday, March 18, in a College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin clash at Loras College. The Titans (9-11, 0-5 CCIW) fell in straight sets to the Duhawks (14-3, 3-2 CCIW) by scores of 25-21, 25-13, and 25-14.

Junior Julian Perez (Orland Park, Ill.-Carl Sandburg) paced the Titans with five kills and a pair of blocks, while sophomore Vince DiCosola (Aurora, Ill.-Oswego East) finished with a team-best 11 assists. Sophomore Luke Hartke (Barrington, Ill.-Barrington) led IWU with five digs, as junior Adam Blackmore (Geneva, Ill.-Geneva) tallied four. 

Illinois Wesleyan had no answer for the Loras attack, as the Titans were outhit .069 to .400 as the Duhawks held a 37-18 lead in kills. IWU finished with four aces to 12 by LC, while Loras compiled leads in blocks (8-3), assists (33-17, and digs (23-19).

The Green and White looks to snap a five-game skid Wednesday, March 22, when it travels to nationally ranked North Central College for a 7 p.m. first serve.
