Men’s Tennis Heads to Florida for Spring Break Trip

Titans will play four dual matches over five-day period

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University men's tennis team will travel to Orlando, Fla. for its spring break trip. The Titans (4-4) will play four dual matches over a span of five days, March 13-17. 

IWU will kick off the trip with a dual against Ohio Wesleyan University Monday, March 13. The following day will see two matches, as the Titans will begin the day facing Colby-Sawyer College before taking on Emerson College Tuesday, March 14. The Green and White will enjoy Wednesday and Thursday off, before concluding the trip with a dual against Franciscan University of Steubenville Friday, March 17. 

The match against Ohio Wesleyan (2-0) will mark the second time the two programs have faced off. OWU won the initial match, 9-0, March 16, 2017. 

IWU and Colby-Sawyer (2-4) will face off for the third all-time with the series tied at 1-1, with IWU winning the most recent match on March 17, 2022, 6-3. Then-sophomore Ryan McCoy (Arlington Heights, Ill.-Rolling Meadows) and then-freshman Zeke Cross (Springfield, Ill.-Springfield) were victorious at No. 3 doubles with a score of 8-2. Cross also picked up a win at No. 6 singles, winning with set scores 6-2 and 6-1. 

The Titans will meet Emerson (0-7) and Franciscan (1-4) for the first time in program history.
