BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - For the first time in the 2022-23 season, the Illinois Wesleyan University men's tennis team will play at home, as the Titans (1-3) will host Monmouth College and Webster University for dual matches Saturday-Sunday, Feb. 18-19. First serve is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. against Monmouth Saturday, Feb. 19, and at 12 p.m. against Webster (2-4) Sunday, Feb. 19. Both matches will take place at Evergreen Racquet Club.

The Green and White enter the match after splitting two bouts Saturday, Feb. 11. IWU swept Simpson College, 9-0, before falling to Principia College, 8-1. Senior Carter Burk (Bloomington, Ill.-Normal U High) was victorious at No. 3 singles in both matches, along with picking up a win at No. 1 doubles with freshman Ian Turnbull (Bloomington, Ill.-Bloomington) against the Storm.

This will be the first match of the season for Monmouth. It will be the eighth all-time matchup between the Titans and Scots, and the first since the 2015-16 season. The last faceoff saw the Titans fall 6-3 at Monmouth April 19, 2016.

Webster will enter the match against IWU after playing the Mississippi University for Women and Hendrix College Friday-Saturday, Feb. 17-18. IWU holds a 4-1 all-time record against the Gorloks, with the last dual taking place on Feb. 20, 2021. Burk, in his sophomore year, and then-freshmen Evan Turnbull (Bloomington, Ill.-Bloomington) and Ryan McCoy (Arlington Heights, Ill.-Rolling Meadows) all collected wins in the singles portion of the dual en route to an 8-1 victory.
