BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – After five College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin matches, the Illinois Wesleyan University women's soccer team takes a break from conference action to host the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater (5-5-1, 1-1-1 WIAC) Wednesday, Oct. 11. The non-conference match is set for 6 p.m. at Neis Field.

The Green and White are 1-11-1 (0-4-1 CCIW) after its recent CCIW bout with Carroll University Saturday, Oct. 7. Illinois Wesleyan fell 1-0 against the Pioneers as Carroll found the net late in the first half. Junior Madalyn Buxton (Springfield, Ill.-Pleasant Plains) defended the goal for the Titans, recording four saves to follow the five notched in an earlier match with Augustana College Wednesday, Oct. 4.

Before moving into goal, Buxton scored the most recent Titan goal in IWU's 2-1 loss to Wheaton College Sept. 30. Also recording goals this season are juniors Tegan Timerman (Peoria, Ill.-Peoria Notre Dame), Amanda Yaeger (New Lenox, Ill.-Lincoln-Way West), and freshmen Sophie Lampert (Hudson, Ill.-Normal West) and Ava Mapes (Golden, Colo.-Lakewood). Mapes leads all IWU scorers with two goals.

In the series history dating back to 2001, IWU holds a 6-4-1 advantage over UW-Whitewater. Wednesday's game will take place exactly a year after their previous meeting, where the Warhawks broke the stalemate with a late goal in the 86th minute to secure the 1-nil win. Allie Prigge was the UW-Whitewater scorer a year ago, and returns as the Warhawks' No. 2 goal scorer this year with four, just behind Gianna Zamborini's five goals this season.

Wednesday night's contest is slated for a 6 p.m. start at Neis Field. The match will be available via live stream here, and live stats can be viewed here.
