WAUKESHA, Wis. – The Illinois Wesleyan University women's soccer team was defeated 1-nil Saturday, Oct. 7 by Carroll University at Schneider Field in Waukesha, Wis. The Titans are 1-11-1 (0-4-1 CCIW) on the season as Carroll moves to 8-4-1 (3-0-1 CCIW).
The Titans held off the Pioneers through much of the first half despite trailing in shots, 8-0 and corners, 4-0. Carroll altered the score with a late goal in the 41st minute from Brielle Ingalsbee which would ultimately be the game-winner.
The Green and White made a late push in the second half attempting five shots to the Pioneers' seven and led 4-3 in corner kicks. Madalyn Buxton (Springfield, Ill.-Pleasant Plains) totaled four saves on the day.
Tegan TImerman (Peoria, Ill.-Peoria Notre Dame) and
Sophie Lampert (Hudson, Ill.-Normal West) each had two shot attempts.
The Green and White return Neis Field Wednesday, Oct. 11, for a nonconference match against UW-Whitewater. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
