METAMORA, Ill. - For the 18th time in program history, the 14th-ranked Illinois Wesleyan University women's golf team claimed the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Championship Saturday, Oct. 7, at Metamora Fields Golf Club. The Titans carded a final round 300 on the par-71, 5793-yard course.

IWU finished the tournament with a 54-hole total of 886 (284-302-300), breaking the previous program record of 910 set at the 2021 league championship. The Titans posted the largest margin of victory since 2012, as Illinois Wesleyan finished with a 56-stroke advantage. Augustana and Elmhurst tied for second at 942, while North Central placed fourth at 944. 

The Titans were led by a tremendous ascent up the leaderboard by senior Emma Thorman (Macomb, Ill.-Macomb), who birdied her final two holes, to finish the day one-under. With a round of 70, she climbed three spots up the leaderboard to secure medalist honors at five-over, 218. Thorman registered her fourth career win and posted a career-low 54-hole total, beating her previous record of 223 from the 2021 CCIW tournament. Additionally her three-day score set the program record.

Junior Jadyn Spinks (Normal, Ill.-University High) capped off a phenomenal three-day performance with a one-over 73 to take runner-up, two strokes behind Thorman. Her final round score tied her career-low for a single round, while she shattered her 54-hole career-best by 19 strokes with 220 (71-76-73).

The Titans' 1-2-3 punch was rounded out by senior Lexi Onsrud (Normal, Ill.-University High) in third. Onsrud used rounds of 70, 75, and 78 to conclude the tournament with a total of 223. Juniors Macy Ludwig (Effingham, Ill.-St. Anthony) and Jacque O'Neill (Harbor Springs, Mich.-Harbor Springs) placed sixth and tied for ninth, respectively, while junior Kylie Hundman (Bloomington, Ill.-Central Catholic) took 13th.

Onsrud was named the recipient of the conference's Elite 26 award for the third straight year, an honor bestowed upon the all-conference golfer with the highest GPA. Freshman Emily Gastrau was recognized with the CCIW RESPECT Award, while Thorman, Spinks, Onsrud, Ludwig, and O'Neill hauled in All-CCIW honors.
