BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Illinois Wesleyan University women's soccer team travels to Waukesha, Wis. Saturday, Oct. 7 for a College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin bout with Carroll University. The match will kick off at 1 p.m. inside Schneider Stadium.
The Green and White stand at a 1-10-1 overall record and are 0-3-1 in CCIW play. Its most recent match ended in a tight 1-0 loss to Augustana College (9-1-2, 2-0-1 CCIW) Wednesday, Oct. 4. The Titans had 10 shot attempts to the Vikings 13 in the midweek matchup. Junior Madalyn Buxton (Springfield, Ill.-Pleasant Plains) had five saves in her goalkeeping debut.
Buxton is also the Titans' most recent scorer, notching the sole goal in IWU's 2-1 loss to Wheaton College Saturday, Sept. 30. Also recording goals this season are juniors Tegan Timerman (Peoria, Ill.-Peoria Notre Dame),
Amanda Yaeger (New Lenox, Ill.-Lincoln-Way West), and freshmen
Sophie Lampert (Hudson, Ill.-Normal West) and
Ava Mapes (Golden, Colo.-Lakewood). Mapes leads all IWU scorers with two goals.
In its short history, Illinois Wesleyan owns a 7-1-2 series record against Carroll dating back to 2009. The two teams last met Nov. 2, 2022, in a match that saw the Titans shutout the Pioneers 4-0. Timerman scored two of the goals while sophomore Sawyer White (Downers Grove, Ill.-Montini Catholic) had one assist.
