BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Illinois Wesleyan University women's soccer team readies for a midweek College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin challenge with Augustana College (8-1-2, 1-0-1 CCIW) Wednesday, Oct. 4. Kickoff in Rock Island, Ill. is set for 7 p.m. at Thorson-Lucken Field.

The Titans are idling with a 1-9-1 record, still searching for their first CCIW win after moving to a 0-1-1 record in conference play after their 2-1 loss to Wheaton College (2-5-3, 1-0-0 CCIW) Saturday, Sept. 30. Junior Madalyn Buxton (Springfield, Ill.-Pleasant Plains) put IWU on the board with her first goal for Illinois Wesleyan, scoring in the 33rd minute of play. Wheaton answered back with two goals in the second half to secure the Thunder's first CCIW win.

Buxton joins juniors Tegan Timerman (Peoria, Ill.-Peoria Notre Dame), Amanda Yaeger (New Lenox, Ill.-Lincoln-Way West), and freshmen Sophie Lampert (Hudson, Ill.-Normal West) and Ava Mapes (Golden, Colo.-Lakewood) as the Green and White scorers. Mapes leads the squad with two goals, both coming in the Sept. 6 game against Knox College.

IWU owns a 19-9-8 series record against Augustana dating back to 1994. In their last matchup Oct. 5, 2022, the Titans shut out the Vikings, 3-0. Current assistant coach, Caelyn Bieterman (nee Steffens) scored two of the three goals.

Wednesday's evening game kicks off at 7 p.m. at Thorson-Lucken Field in Rock Island, Ill. The women's match will be available via live stream here, and live stats can be viewed here.
