Titans Back Home for Midweek Matchup

Wednesday Marks Third CCIW Contest

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University men's soccer team goes into its third College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin game at home Wednesday, Oct. 4 against Augustana College. Kick off is set for 7 p.m. under the lights at Neis Field. 

IWU enters the match off a 1-nil loss at Wheaton College Saturday, Sept. 30. The Titans head into Saturday's contest with a 2-4-2 overall record, 0-1-1 in CCIW action. Augustana most recently lost to Carthage College, 4-nil, to have an overall record of 0-7-2. The Vikings are going into tomorrow's game 0-2 in the CCIW. 

Sophomore Sam Kedzior (Cary, Ill.-Cary Grove) continues to be one of the top goalies in the CCIW. Kedzior leads the conference in save percentage (.891) and is also leading in saves per game (5.13). Freshman Faheem Mujahid (St. Robert, Mo.-Waynesville) leads the Titans with four goals on the season while junior Mush Bakirdan (Morton, Ill.-Morton) is the only other Titan to score with one goal on the season. 

The Titans and the Vikings have met a total of 37 times dating back to 1987. The two teams most recently met on Oct. 5, 2022 where the Green and White bested the Vikings 3-2. One goal featured senior Sasha Tylnyy (Wheeling, Ill.-Buffalo Grove) at the 21 minute mark to tie the game with the assist coming from junior Justin Hart (Morton, Ill.-Morton). Later on in the game, sophomore Kalabi Kamau (Alpharetta, Ga.-Marist School) also made an assist to put the Titans ahead by one goal to end the game.
