BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – After awaiting its fate over four long days, the Illinois Wesleyan University women's soccer team landed the final spot in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Tournament and is set to play No. 3 seed Carroll University in a quarterfinal match Saturday, Oct. 28 in Waukesha, Wis.
Illinois Wesleyan (3-12-2, 2-5-1 CCIW) capped off its regular season Saturday, Oct. 21 in a 6-0 loss at the hands of North Central who claimed the CCIW regular season title with an undefeated, 8-0, conference record. North Central holds the No. 1 seed followed by Wheaton at No. 2. Augustana sits behind Carroll at No. 4 while Millikin is No. 5, and IWU rounds out the pool with the sixth seed.Â
The Titans' bid marks the 21st consecutive appearance in the CCIW Tournament, as the Green and White face Carroll for the second-straight year in the opening round. Carroll (9-5-3, 4-1-3 CCIW) won the last meeting on Oct. 7, as Brielle Ingalsbee put away the contest's only goal in the 41st minute to take the 1-0 victory over the Titans. Despite the loss, IWU still reigns in the series history with a 7-2-2 record dating back to 2009.Â

No. 5 Millikin will face No. 4 Augustana in Rock Island, Ill. for a 1 p.m. kickoff on Saturday while No. 1 North Central and No. 2 Wheaton await their Nov. 1 semifinal opponents pending Saturday's matches.Â
