Women’s Soccer Closes Out Regular Season with Loss to No. 24 NCC

Titans three-game unbeaten streak snapped

BLOOMINGTON, Ill - The Illinois Wesleyan women's soccer team closed out the regular season with a 6-0 loss to College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Regular Season Champion, 24th-ranked North Central College, Saturday, Oct. 21. The Titans, who hold a record of 3-12-2 and 2-5-1 in the CCIW, now await the outcomes of Wednesday's league games to determine their CCIW tournament fate. Meanwhile, NCC advanced to 15-2 on the year (7-0 CCIW) and claimed the regular season conference title with the win.

The Cardinals pounced for five goals in a 12-minute span to take charge and never look back. Freshman Adriana Ruffolo (Bloomingdale, Ill.-Glenbard North) finished the match with six saves as IWU was outshot 23-4 in the contest.

Saturday's match marked the end of the regular season for the Titans, while their postseason hopes are still up in the air. IWU currently sits sixth in the league standings with seven points.
