Men’s Soccer Shutout at Elmhurst

Titans will celebrate Senior Day Saturday, Oct. 21

 ELMHURST, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University men's soccer team suffered a 2-nil loss at the hands of College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin foe Elmhurst University Wednesday, Oct. 18, at Langhorst Field. Illinois Wesleyan's record dips to 5-5-3 with the loss and 3-2-1 in conference, while Elmhurst improved to 6-8-2 and 4-2-0 in CCIW action. 

Elmhurst grabbed the lead around seven minutes into the contest, as a shot found the back of the net to open the scoring. The Bluejays capatalized again at the 26-minute mark to take a 2-nil lead into halftime.

The Titans held Elmhurst scoreless in the second 45-minute session, but could not find the back of the net.

Sophomore Sam Kedzior (Cary, Ill.-Cary Grove) played 90 minutes in between the pipes and had two saves, while allowing two goals. IWU finished with 11 shots to Elmhurst's 18, with senior Isaac Plagakis (Sycamore, Ill.-Sycamore) and juniors Will McNulty (Glen Ellyn, Ill.-Glenbard West) and Declan Nugent (Naperville, Ill.-Neuqua Valley) leading the Green and White with two apiece.

The Titans are set to host league-leading and fifth-ranked North Central College as part of Senior Day at Neis Field Saturday, Oct. 21. Kickoff is set for 3:30 pm and will be preceded by the IWU women's soccer game.
