BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Coming off its first College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin win, the Illinois Wesleyan University women's soccer team is set to host Elmhurst University Wednesday, Oct. 18 for the Titans penultimate CCIW contest of the regular season. The midweek match is slated for 7 p.m. at Neis Field.

Illinois Wesleyan is finding its momentum as the Titans move to a 2-11-2 record, 1-4-1 in CCIW play after a 1-0-1 record on the week. The Green and White faced a non-conference opponent in the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, Wednesday, Oct. 11 where sophomore Sawyer White (Downers Grove, Ill.-Montini Catholic) connected with sophomore Sammie Shanks (Bloomington, Ill.-Central Catholic) on a clutch 89th-minute goal to earn a tie against the Warhawks.

The Titans celebrated Senior Day Saturday, Oct. 14 with a 1-0 shutout over CCIW foe, North Park University. White picked up her second assist on the week with a corner kick that found junior Audrey Hofstetter (Gilbert, Ariz.-Perry) in the box for her first goal of the season. Freshman goalkeeper Adriana Ruffolo (Bloomingdale, Ill.-Glenbard North) played all 180 minutes in goal, posting a .917 save percentage with 11 saves.

Elmhurst enters Wednesday's contest with a 4-7-3 record while still awaiting a conference win (0-5-1 CCIW). The Bluejays faced two CCIW opponents last week, dropping their contest with Millikin 1-0 on Oct. 11 before falling to Millikin 4-0 on Saturday, Oct. 14. Kelli Coughlin has been Elmhurst's dominating force leading the Bluejay scorers with seven goals with one assist. A total of eight Bluejays have posted at least one goal on the year while three more recorded assists.

The Green and White have a 22-5-1 advantage over Elmhurst in the 27-year series history. Illinois Wesleyan defeated Elmhurst handily in their last meeting Oct. 19, 2022, with a 6-nil run that featured a hat trick by now-assistant coach Caelyn Beiterman (nee Steffens) and a goal by now-junior Tegan Timerman (Peoria, Ill.-Peoria Notre Dame).

Kickoff at Neis Field is slated for a 7 p.m. start Wednesday, Oct. 18.
