BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University women's volleyball team will hit the road for three games in two states Friday-Saturday, Sept. 30-Oct. 1. The Titans (10-3, 2-0 CCIW) will battle Augustana College in Rock Island, Ill. Friday, Sept. 30 at 7 p.m. before heading to Mount Vernon, Iowa. On Saturday, Oct. 1, IWU is slated to face Cornell College and Coe College in the Cornell Quadrangular at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., respectively.

The Green and White are coming off a 3-1 week after defeating Carthage College, No. 6 WashU, and Heidelberg University to extend its win streak to eight games. Illinois Wesleyan's run and week came to a halt with a four-set loss to No. 15 University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.

The College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin clash on Friday night will mark the 44th time the Titans and Vikings (12-4, 2-1 CCIW) have faced off. Illinois Wesleyan holds a 25-18 advantage in the series and has won the last six matches, most recently Oct. 22, 2021 in sweeping fashion (25-11, 28-26, 25-21). The Viking enter the match off a sweep of Dominican University Tuesday, Sept. 27.

The Titans have only faced Cornell (9-4, 2-0 MWC) four times, all of which have taken place in Shirk Center, and have won three of the four contests. The two teams have not battled each other since Oct. 27, 2018, when the then No. 14 Titans won in four sets with scores of 10-25, 25-23, 25-23, 25-17. Now an assistant coach for the Titans, Tyler Brown led the Green and White in kills with 14 against the Rams, and added 13 digs.

Illinois Wesleyan and Coe (13-3, 2-0 ARC) will meet for the 11th time, with IWU holding a 9-1 advantage over the Kohawks all-time. The last matchup took place on Oct. 18, 2019 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The battle went the full five sets before the Titans secured the comeback, as they had to win the last two sets (19-25, 25-17, 23-25, 25-15, 15-9) to escape Coe.
