BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University men's basketball team completed a 5,547-mile trek Tuesday, Aug. 9, as the Titans kickoff their nine-day stay in Greece, Aug. 9-17.

The Titans will play three games during their trip, with contests scheduled for Aug. 11, Aug. 12, and Aug. 16.

"Trips like these have proven to be valuable for our team chemistry and to get an early start and feel for competition in preparation for the upcoming season," said Head Coach Ron Rose, whose squad was allowed 10 additional practice sessions in preparation for the trip that do not count against their preseason practice dates.

In previous NCAA-sanctioned international play, Illinois Wesleyan men's basketball teams have traveled and played in Spain (2016), Costa Rica (in 2005 and 2013) and in Italy (August 2010 and 2019).

In addition to the basketball games, the traveling party will have guided tours of Thessaloniki and Athens. The Green and White will also visit Acropolis, Halkidiki, Cape Sounion, and Hydra.

Players making the trip are Cody Mitchell, Lucas Heflen, Pryce Punkay, Grant Taueg, Ryan Sroka, Connor Heaton, Evan Schneider, Grant Hardy, Harrison Wilmsen, Hakim Williams, Shane Miller, Nathan Valentine, and Nick Roper
