BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Illinois Wesleyan University Director of Sports Performance & Athletic Training Bill Kauth announced the addition of Melissa Perkins and Erin Rosier to the Titan Athletic Training staff Thursday, July 28.

Perkins will assume the role of Head Athletic Trainer, while Rosier returns to the IWU staff as an Assistant Athletic Trainer. Perkins will work primarily with the IWU football and softball programs, with Rosier leading athletic training efforts for women's basketball and baseball.

Perkins comes to Illinois Wesleyan after a one and a half year tenure at Lincoln College where she served as Head Athletic Trainer for the Lynx. In her role at LC, Perkins oversaw two graduate assistants and the care of 250+ student-athletes for the NAIA athletic program.

Prior to her time at Lincoln, she served as a Staff Athletic Trainer at Concordia-Wisconsin. There, she worked directly with the women's volleyball, men's wrestling, and acrobatic and tumbling teams. Perkins' career also includes stops at Illinois State University and the University of Evansville.

Perkins graduated from Concordia-Wisconsin with a bachelor's degree in athletic training in 2016. She holds a master's degree from Illinois State University in kinesiology and recreation with an emphasis in athletic training. She is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association, Great Lakes Athletic Training Association, and the American College of Sports Medicine.

Rosier is no stranger to Titan athletics, moving into a full-time role after a two-year run as a graduate assistant at IWU. In her previous two years with the Green and White, Rosier worked directly with the women's basketball, baseball, and women's tennis teams.

Before coming to Illinois Wesleyan, Rosier was an athletic training student assistant at Springfield College (2016-2020) and Western New England University (2019).

A native of New Hampshire, Rosier earned her bachelor's degree in athletic training from Springfield College in 2020. This past May she graduated from Illinois State University with a master's degree in athletic training.
