BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University men's tennis team enters postseason play Thursday, May 5 as the Titans head north to Kenosha, Wis. to take on No. 3 seeded Wheaton College in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Tournament. The Titans finished with an overall record of 5-11, 2-5 CCIW earning IWU the sixth seed and a 2 p.m tilt at the Smeds Tennis Center.
The winner will advance to the next round Friday, May 6 and will take on the winner of the No.2/7 game between Carthage College and Elmhurst University. The winners of day two will compete for the conference title Saturday, May 7.
The CCIW announced its all-conference teams Wednesday, May 4 that saw senior Demetrios Triantafel (Indian Head Park, Ill.-LaGrange Lyons) earn second team distinction for the Titans. It is Triantafel's third postseason accolade in his IWU career.
The Thunder hold the upperhand against the Titans all-time, as IWU has won one match against Wheaton since the 2008-09 season. Most recently, the Green and White took on Wheaton at home, April 23, where IWU dropped, 9-0.
