Onsrud & Thorman Selected to Compete at NCAA Championship

Tournament to be played May 10-13 in Houston, Texas

INDIANAPOLIS - Sophomore women's golfers Lexi Onsrud (Normal, Ill.-University High) and Emma Thorman (Macomb, Ill.-Macomb) have been chosen to represent the Illinois Wesleyan University women's golf team at the NCAA Division III Championships as individuals the NCAA announced Monday afternoon, May 2. The duo's selections mark the sixth straight year in which IWU has competed in the national tournament.

Along with the Titan duo, Oglethorpe's Sarah Hsu, Lynchburg's Emily Brubaker, Christopher Newport's Shreya Ganta, and Texas-Dallas' Karen Avarez make up the six individual qualifiers. Additionally, the field of 29 teams, made up of 22 automatic qualifiers and seven at-large picks, was announced.

The 72-hole tournament will take place May 10-13 at Bay Oaks Country Club in Houston, Texas. Following 54 holes of competition, the field will be cut to the top 15 teams and top six individuals not on one of those teams to compete on the final day.
