Men’s Tennis Slips to Wheaton

Titans back in action, tomorrow for Senior Day

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University men's tennis team played host to College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin company, Wheaton College Saturday, April 23. The Titans fell 9-0 to the Thunder, dipping IWU's league record to 1-5 as the Thunder climbed to 4-1. 

The Titans put up a hard fight during doubles play. At No. 3 doubles fifth-year senior Justin Piotrowski (Palatine, Ill.-Fremd) and freshman Zeke Cross (Springfield, Ill.-Springfield) pushed their match into extra sets, but came up short, 8-7 (2-0). At No. 1 and 2 doubles, the Titans got close but were eventually edged 8-5 and 8-6, respectively. 

IWU is back in action tomorrow, Sunday April 24 for its last regular-season match and Senior Day against Elmhurst University. First serve is scheduled for 10 a.m.
