Men’s Tennis Closes out Regular Season at Home

Titans to celebrate its three seniors Sunday, April 24

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University men's tennis team wraps up regular season play at home Saturday-Sunday, April 23-24. The Titans close out its College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin schedule against Wheaton College, Saturday and Elmhurst University, Sunday at 11 a.m. and 10 a.m., respectively, at Evergreen Racquet Club. 

IWU will play the Bluejays Sunday, April 25 where the Green and White will honor its three seniors including Justin Piotrowski (Palatine, Ill.-Fremd), Demetrios Triantafel (Indian Head Park, Ill.-LaGrange Lyons), and Shanku Nair (Bloomington Ill.-Normal Community) before the match. 

The Titans hold a 1-4 CCIW record as the Thunder will travel to Bloomington with a 2-1 league standing. Elmhurst sits at 1-3 in the CCIW. Wheaton is scheduled to play Millikin Friday, April 22 before squaring off with the Titans the next day. Similarly, Elmhurst will play neighboring CCIW opponent Millikin Saturday, April 23 before heading north to face the Green and White Sunday.

Wheaton holds a strong lead in the all-time series with a record of 18-1 against IWU dating back to 2008-09. However, the Green and White share a split all-time record with the Bluejays, 9-9 since the 2008-09 season. The last time IWU played Elmhurst was last season, where the Titans came out on top 7-2, April 18, to snap a two-game losing streak against the Bluejays.
