Men’s Tennis Defeated by Greenville in Home Opener

Titans head to Florida for Spring Break Trip, March 14

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University men's tennis team lost to Greenville University in its home opener duel 7-2 Friday night, March 4. 

Fifth-year senior Justin Piotrowski (Palatine, Ill.-Fremd) represented the Green and White with the only singles win. At No. 5 singles, Piotrowski took the first set 6-3, before Greenville's Austin Burkhart came back to win the second 4-6. In the tiebreaker set, Piotrowski came out on top 10-8.

At No. 2 doubles, first time pairing of junior Carter Burk (Bloomington, Ill.-Normal U High) and sophomore Ryan McCoy (Arlington Heights, Ill.-Rolling Meadows) edged out a win 8-7 against Greenville's Clark Kent and Lucas Motsinger.

The Titans travel down south for its Spring Break trip to Florida. IWU is scheduled to play Eckerd University Monday, March. 14 at 10 am.m. ET.
