ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The Illinois Wesleyan University women's volleyball team swept Illinois College and Luther College in the WashU Tournament today, Oct. 8. Illinois Wesleyan moved to 12-7 and 2-2 in College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin play for the season.

The Titans made quick work of the Lady Blues (7-14, 2-1 MWC), winning with set scores of 27-25, 25-22, and 25-20. This marks the 10th match in a row that IWU has swept Illinois College. 

Junior Taylor Herman (Elmwood, Ill.-Elmwood) led the Titans in the victory over IC with a career-best 16 kills. Junior Taylor Babec (Joliet, Ill.-Plainfield Central) and sophomore Morgan Harrington (Plainfield, Ill.-Plainfield East) notched eight kills each en route to a 48-kill match for the Green and White. Sophomore Abby Erdman (Aurora, Ill.-Metea Valley) and junior Jordan Pierce (Bonfield, Ill.-Herscher) orchestrated the Titan offense with 21 and 16 assists, respectively. 

Junior Faith Washko (Springfield, Ill.-Sacred Heart-Griffin) continues her strong junior campaign, as she recorded 23 digs, seven assists and an ace in the takedown of the Lady Blues. Babec and Harrington continue their strong net protection, notching four and three blocks, respectively. Junior Ellie Eager (Mendota, Ill.-Marquette Academy) and sophomore Jessie Sariev (Schaumburg, Ill.-Schaumburg) each added three rejections in the strong defensive performance for the Titans. 

Illinois Wesleyan continued their strong day with a sweep over Luther, winning with set scores of 25-20, 25-13, 25-22. The win evened the all-time series between the two foes at two each. 

The Titans return to action Wednesday, Oct. 12, as they hit the road to take on North Park University in a midweek CCIW clash. The game will have a live stream, which can be accessed here, and live stats can be found here.
