BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University women's soccer team prepares for its 28th all-time meeting against College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin's Elmhurst University Wednesday, Oct. 19. The game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. kickoff in Elmhurst, Ill. at Langhorst Field. The Titans (7-2-3, 5-0-1 CCIW) travel to Elmhurst for its third-straight away match as the Bluejays (0-14, 0-6 CCIW) return home after five-straight road games.

The Titans have scored a total of 32 goals this season compared to their opponents 10, which is tied with North Central College for least number of goals allowed in the conference thus far. In the CCIW three Titans are among the top-10 for most goals. Senior Caelyn Steffens (Normal, Ill.-Normal Community) ranks first with 14, senior Lauren Shanks (Bloomington, Ill.-Central Catholic) is tied for fifth with seven, and sophomore Liza Matimore (Gurnee, Ill.-Warren Township) is tied for sixth with six goals. The trio are also ranked in points with Steffens at the helm with 30, averaging 2.50 points per game.

In assists, Matimore is tied for the most assists this season, tallying five. Senior Jenna Li (Haslett, Mich.-Lansing Christian), Shanks, and freshman Sawyer White (Downers Grove, Ill.-Montini Catholic) are also ranked and tied for second-most assists with four each.

The Titans are touching the field once again after defeating North Park University, 5-2 Saturday, Oct. 15. IWU saw three different goal scores in Steffens, Shanks, and sophomore Tegan Timerman (Peoria, Ill.-Peoria Notre Dame). Shanks picked up the game-winning goal for the Green and White, the third for Bloomignton, Ill. native this season, also scored first against the vikings around the six minute mark. Shanks has a history of scoring first and quickly for the Green and White. The senior has tallied a total of seven goals this season thus far, three of which she has scored within the first 10 minutes of a game and one just outside at the 10:18 mark.

The win over NPU continued the Titans' CCIW win-streak as IWU still leads with a league record of 5-0-1. The Green and White are just  one out of two teams in the conference without a league loss.

The Bluejays welcome the Titans after its 14th consecutive loss on the season against Millikin University Oct. 15. IWU and EU history dates back to the 1996 season but it is IWU who holds the advantage in the all-time series, 21-5-1. Wednesday's mid-meek match will be the 28th meeting as the Titans enter the game on a 10 game win streak over the Bluejays starting after a 2-2 draw in the 2011 campaign.
