BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - With the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin slate halfway complete, the Illinois Wesleyan University men's soccer team will now turn its attention to Millikin University. The match is slated for Wednesday, Oct. 12 at Neis Field in Bloomington with a 7 p.m. kickoff. Entering the contest, the Green and White own a record of 4-6-2 (1-3 CCIW), while the Big Blue have compiled a 0-7-3 (0-2-1 CCIW) record.

Wednesday's matchup will mark the 43rd all-time meeting between these two programs. The Big Blue own the slim, 21-19-2 all-time advantage against the Titans dating back to the 1986 campaign. However, recent history has been on the side of IWU, having won six-of-the-last-seven meetings, including the last two. The Green and White's last victory came on Oct. 27 of last year when IWU welcomed three second half goals to claim the 4-2 victory.

Illinois Wesleyan last took to the field Saturday, Oct. 8 for the program's Senior Day against Carroll University. After the Pios scored in the fifth minute of action, the Titans notched the equalizer in the 38th minute as the game progressed to halftime. Six minutes into the second 45, CU tallied the game-winning goal to escape Bloomington with the 2-1 victory.

Similarly, the Big Blue also competed this past Saturday by tangling with Augie. Both teams failed to score as the match ended in a scoreless draw. Millikin managed to accumulate 14 shots (five on goal), while the Vikings manufactured seven shots (four on goal).

For the season, IWU has scored 20 goals, while its opponents have net 24 goals. The Titans have been outshot by a tally of 206-131, which equates to a 17.2 shots per game average and a 10.9 shots per game clip, respectively.

Junior Gavin Smith (Seattle, Wash.-Eastside Preparatory School) currently leads the team in points (11) and shots (20). Smith is tied for the team lead with four goals, three assists, and 11 shots on goal.

Junior Sasha Tylnyy (Wheeling, Ill.-Buffalo Grove) is tied for the team lead in goals (4) and shots on goal (11). The Buffalo Grove, Ill. native has notched eight points on the year, good for second on the team.

In the CCIW rankings, for conference contests only, Smith sits in eighth with a .500 goals per game clip and ninth with a 1.25 points per game average.

Freshman Sam Kedzior (Cary, Ill.-Cary Grove) has earned five straight starts in between the posts for the Green and White. On the season, Kedzior has allowed 10 goals while accumulating 27 saves, good for a 0.730 save percentage.
