Morton Garners Second CCIW Golfer of the Week Award of the Year

NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Senior Jimmy Morton (Sugar Grove, Ill.-Marmion Academy) picked up his second College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Golfer of the Week honor of the season Tuesday, Sept. 28. He was named the league's Co-Golfer of the Week alongside Wheaton's David Morton.

Morton previously earned the honor Sept. 14, while Tuesday's announcement is the third CCIW weekly accolade of his career.

The Sugar Grove, Ill. native finished tied for second and fueled IWU to a fifth-place finish at the NCAA Division III Fall Preview, Sept. 19-21. Morton finished two strokes off medalist honors with a three-day total of 209. On the final day of the tournament, he posted his third straight below-par round, firing a one-under 71.

Morton and IWU travel to Indianapolis, Ind. for their next tournament, the Wabash Invitational, Oct. 4-5.
