NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Senior Rebekah Harden (Tinley Park, Ill.-Lincoln-Way North) was named the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Cross Country Runner of the Week. This recognition comes after she won the Gill Dodds Invitational Sept. 18, and is the first weekly cross country honor of her career.

The Gill Dodds Invitational featured stiff competition from 21 schools in the midwest region, including every CCIW squad. Harden captured her second win of the season, as she posted a time of 22:39 to lead a field of 187 harriers. Overall, the team finished in third place. The race was held at St. James Farm, the site of the 2021 CCIW Cross Country Championship scheduled for next month.

Illinois Wesleyan returns to action Friday, October 1 at 4 p.m. in Rock Island, Ill to compete in the Brissman-Lundeen Invitational.
